ImaginAir

Imaginair is a web app that combines hand-tracking technology and generative AI to create collaborative artworks. Using a webcam, users draw on a virtual canvas with the tip of their index finger and provide a text prompt describing their drawing. The app then sends the drawing and prompt to a custom API built with Python and Flask, which uses Stable Diffusion’s image-to-image model to generate a more detailed and complex version of the artwork.

With the rise of generative AI, creating art has often been reduced to writing a simple text prompt, leaving questions about authorship: Who is the true creator—the user or the machine? Imaginair explores a new approach to this issue by giving users more control and responsibility in the creative process. Elements like composition and color are no longer decided solely by the AI but are shaped by the user’s input, resulting in a more tangible collaboration between human and machine.
